More about us

In order to increase the number of visitors to its sites and optimize its economic results, the Conseil Départemental de la Dordogne has created a local semi-public company dedicated to tourism management.

Created in 1998, the mission of Semitour Périgord is to develop and promote the rich cultural, natural and tourist heritage of the Dordogne.

Our values

Sharing and promoting

Semitour is committed to sharing, preserving and developing the various cultural and heritage sites it manages in a sustainable way, so that everyone can fully enjoy their treasures.

Bringing together

Our ambition is to create a synergy between the various players in the tourism sector: Atout France, CRT Nouvelle-Aquitaine, ARGAT, CDT Dordogne Périgord, tourist offices, Grands Sites du Périgord, Evasion Sud-Ouest, CARP, FFTS, etc. Together, we are developing a complete and diversified tourist offer, pooling our resources and promoting the region in an attractive way.

Getting involved

In partnership with the State, the Region, the Département and local partners (ADEME, etc.), we make every effort to make our sites accessible to all, with adapted facilities, as demonstrated by our Tourism and Disability label. The Lascaux Fund also develops solidarity initiatives for people who do not have access to culture. In terms of environmental responsibility, we make visitors aware of the need to respect the environment through initiatives such as the NF Environnement, the Vézère Valley eco-tourism label and the Accueil Vélo classification.

Thanks to the generosity of its patrons, the Fund was created in 2018 to implement and support all activities of general interest that contribute to the national and international reputation of the Lascaux Caves.
